Next Best Legacy

The environment has been a hot issue once again with the recent oil spill in Guimaras Island. Some have described it as worse than the Ultra tragedy. Folks from that area who rely on fishing as their source of income have to find another way of putting both body and soul intact. Others still go on fishing but the prospect of selling their stock is doubtful. A beach owner in that location has vowed to sue Petron for such negligence. I am touched to see the efforts of some sectors to reduce the ill effects of the disaster. What I am looking forward to is to hear that those responsible for such a horrible mess be hailed to court and punished accordingly.

Apart from a good name and a good education, the next best legacy we could leave our children is a safe and clean environment. Sadly not everyone shares in this vision.

Congress has once again nailed the coffin for PGMA’s impeachment. From the start, I have cast doubts that the president will be impeached by a Malacañang-controlled House. The country is still in the dark as to whether Gloria is culpable for the charges against her or not. Our representatives have already decided. Unsatisfied? Wait till May of next year when you can exercise your right to vote.

The BER months are upon us! It has been rainy-sunny-rainy here in the UK and temperatures are starting to decrease. I notice our electric consumption has slightly gone up. This will further increase as we start to use again the ever-reliable heater. Gas consumption will follow suit.
